I started taking pictures professionally in 1994. My first photo assignment was shooting a band called Weezer. The Pics ended up on the “Buddy Holly” single album package and the next thing I knew I was a rock and roll photographer. I shot hundreds of bands staring off into the distance but I soon realized that it was time to move on. One day a creative team from DDB Chicago took a chance and hired this rock and roll photographer to shoot a lifestyle ad campaign for Westin Hotels and I found my true calling… Lifestyle Advertising/Branding photography. I should also mention that I have a BS degree (that’s Bachelor’s of Science not the other kind) in Marketing and Advertising. Aside from taking a few years off here and there to rediscover my passion I have been shooting “real life photography” for over 25 years now and I love it more today than ever. I especially love capturing the not so perfect moments between the moments that actually get used in the ads. ;) I try to keep every aspect of my shoots as natural as possible and I think it comes through in the work. Over the years I have surrounded myself with some of the most talented people in the country. Together we have traveled the world and tackled every size job you can imagine. I always show up excited to collaborate and have fun creating extraordinary imagery. I have been lucky enough to have worked for many of the big agencies in the country including Publicis, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, DDB everywhere, Cline Davis Mann, GSD&M and Rapp to name a few. Hopefully if you are reading this then I am about to get lucky again.
